Craniosacral therapy is a light handed technique that moves with the motions of the bones of the skull, spine, and sacrum, and listens to the movement of the fluid and energy that surrounds them.

There are very few structures that have as much influence over the body’s ability to function properly as the brain and spinal cord which make up our central nervous system. Our craniosacral system is comprised of fluid filled membranes that surround, protect, and nourish the brain and spinal cord therefore having a significant impact on the central nervous system.

One of the primary goals of Craniosacral bodywork, is to decrease or remove restrictions to motion in the cranial rhythm, affecting the quality of the cranial wave, therefore, affecting ones nervous system, circulatory system, musculoskeletal system, and emotional health.

Craniosacral sessions are deeply relaxing with subtle yet profound effects. Due to the gentle nature of the work, it can be effective with most conditions of the body, releasing tension and enhancing/strengthening the body’s own ability to heal by bolstering resistance to disease, thus improving overall health. It can be an effective preventive measure towards many aliments, and is particularly helpful to those who suffer with head, neck, or back injuries resulting from an injury or accident.

Treatments are done with participants fully dressed, no lotions or oils are used, treatments consist of 60-90 min. You may feel a dropping  sensation or a peaceful inner quiet, warmth, and increased body awareness. After a session, you might feel sleepy, a little scattered or more energetic, depending on your bodies response to the treatment.
